COSMOS European project (2010 - 2012)
LIFE+ (ENV/IT/000434) 2008 European project (that was started in January 2010) concerns the inertisation of fly ashes (and in particular fly ashes from Municipal Incinerators). Research activity is based on a new patented technology developped by Chem4Tech laboratory (patent numbers BS2009A000234 and PCT/EP2010/007802).
In this project a demonstration plant has been realized to prove the process industrial feasibility. COSMOS inert has been proposed for re-utilisation as secondary raw material, in several matrices, then preserving natural resources. For all NEWS refer to COSMOS WEB-SITE, where the Layman report (with final project results) is available.
